Missoni for Target-Target Website down, Targets Mobbed

I was super excited to the get the September issue of Vogue. It is the big fat issue that comes out every sept with all the fall fashions and stuff about fashion week. For me the entire issue is a work of Art and I enjoy browsing the pages and reading the articles. I was floored to see about 5 pages for Missoni for Target smack in the middle of other glitzy designers. The BACK cover was Missoni for Target!! Missoni is known for their use of geometric zigzag stripes and that design is in full force in the Target collection. SOOOO. This morning I dropped Luke off at preschool and dropped in at Target for the first day of Missoni. Most of the stuff, I would say 95% was already gone. All that was left was some king size sheets, children's shoes and clothes. The children's clothes were made out of a knit that I thought felt darn itchy.

After Target I went to see my Mother at her home at an Assisted Living Facility. Imagine my surprise when I walked in and saw this 86 year old lady wearing Pants with a zigzag design. Some pants she had purchased in the 60's. Then I saw this 90 yr old man walking with a sweater with the same design!!!! I wish I had saved some of my clothes from the 60's.

Fairhope is going Uptown

You heard it here first. Another Broken Egg is coming to FAIRHOPE!! I went walking in Fairhope this morning for the first time in I cannot remember when. Stupidly I did not take my camera, so here is what is new:

The building across from the hardware store burned. It is being renovated and/or torn down. A new building will house Another Broken Egg.

The FUDGE shop is gone. It has been replaced with a bistro that serves homemade Cinnamon rolls and other such things.

Mary Ann's lunch spot moved out, Church Street Cafe moved into their spot and they are CLOSING tommorow.

The Tudor Mansion was torn down and replaced with a building that has stores on the first floor, condos on floors two and three. The Bay Breeze Cafe is in there.

The building where Old Bay Steamer was located was torn down and a fancy looking Italian building is there with an Italian Eatery that opened two weeks ago.

Then of course there is the new hugh Fairhope Library. It was crawling with people this morning. In fact, Fairhope was crawling with people. Not sure if the little town will survive all these changes. It looks more and more like Sonoma every day.
