Look its a FISH and/or I have no smart phone
After downing some fried seafood in honor of Christopher Kenny's 60th Birthday we went to the Fairhope Pier to walk off some calories. There was a huge crowd of people at the foot of the Pier staring at something n the water. I thought it might be a manatee. Patrick and Chris thought it was a gator. NOOO, it was a guy fishing with a little pole reeling in a 30lb fish. When he brought the fish out of the water the crowd started cheering. He was mobbed and everyone pulled out their smart phones to take a picture. It was a crazy scene. He was a celebrity for 15 minutes. The fish was huge. Yes, that is life in a small town.

Sewing Project
jennygarland.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/NapMatTutorial.pdf
This was my little sewing project. It is pretty straight forward, two 22 x40 inch rectangles, two 36 inch squares. The public Kindergarten here is full day and Kate will be starting TOMMOROW. She has to bring a nap mat. I waiting until the last minute. So, if any other grand's need one please let me know. I did not take a picture of the finished product, that was stupid.
I did not do the buttonhole tabs because I am using an old 70's sewing machine without a button hole attachment.

Sewing Done - Waiting for that Vogue Magazine
Almost finished with the sewing project. Now I am waiting for Vogue. Maybe Monday.
When I was in High School I made all my own clothes. I had some really trendy stuff. All the stuff in Mother and Dad's house and all I found was a lace dress I wore once that has a dry cleaning tag from 1974. None of my swinging sixties clothes survived. I was a size 2 back then so I could not wear any of it but I could reuse the fabric.

Anniversary - 42 Years- No Pictures Please
Both of us forgot our Cameras!! I am between Camera bags. One is too small and one is too large.
Hard to believe, 42 years. Patrick and I had a very nice dinner at the Grand Hotel. We talked about when he was 17 and working for the Fairhope Airport. He took care of the airplanes and when guests arrived in their private jets he would drive them and their luggage to the Grand Hotel in the Airport's Ford Fairlane Station Wagon. The draft board was looming waiting for him to turn 18 and his High School Guidance Counselor laughed when he said he wanted to go to Medical School so he went in the Coast Guard.
We both attended the same High School. I went for four years and he was there for one. Although we never met each other. There were close to 800 students in my graduating class. Girls were not allowed to wear pants to school except on certain "fun" days. When I was a Senior one of the traditions the week of graduation was to walk the halls of the school barefoot.
Anyway, I digress. http://www.marriott.com/hotelwebsites/us/p/ptlal/ptlal_pdf/The%20Grand%20Dining%20Room%20Website%20Version.pdf
Dinner was really nice but as we sat down I felt like a fish out of water. It was way over the top high brow. There was lady playing the grand piano and singing. She was great but reminded me of a Saturday Night Live skit the way she narrated her songs. The starter was a Tuna Salad served in a small serving dish that looked like a tablespoon. It reminded me of the Tuna Tar Tar we had at the Townhall in San Francisco. Patrick's fish was prepared at the table. I ordered the salad and it was in a circle about the size of a coffee cup and stuffed into a thin slice of cucumber. My scallops were also in a serving a little larger than a coffee cup, served in a dish with a wide rim that I almost turned over.
Very nice relaxing evening with hubby!!

Procrastination
I cannot believe it has been almost a year since I have posted anything to this Blog!! At the moment I have a sewing project to tackle therefore I have a head full of ideas for the blog. That is the way my mind seems to work. I have a project to do and I start procrastination.
Good news - The September 2012 Vogue will be in my mailbox any day now. I dare not open it or I will not get the sewing done!!
